US Casino Movies
Casinos, gambling in general and online casinos have always fascinated the movie industry and their directors. A number of movies were made with casino as main subject and a lot of movies were shot in actual casinos. Even a new movie with Di Caprio about online casinos in Costa Rica is about to be released soon.
As movies is one of my hobbies, besides gambling in landbased and online casinos, I was assigned to write all I could find about movies in relations to casinos and gambling. The movies listed here are the ones I’ve seen myself. Feel free to drop me a line when you think you can add more info here.
The cooler
This movie is really a must see, the main caracter is the guy aka ‘the cooler’ and that’s the one who comes close to you and ‘brings bad luck’ when you are having a winning streak. Basically all landbased casinos hire people like that to keep an eye on big winners and they hope that once a cooler steps into the scene the winner will be distracted and lady luck leaves that person. Unfortunately for this ‘cooler’ his ‘bad luck aura’ changes to good luck once he falls in love. You think his boss is happy with it…?!

The Oceans trilogie
Danny Ocean (George Clooney) and ten of his ‘friends’ planned the impossible…, robbing three casinos the Bellagio, the Mirage and the MGM Grand. Their plan is ridiculous but not impossible and with the right team and timing it can be done. (don’t try this at home!)
‘The right team’? Well that’s a bit of a question here, ten friends and none of them are like real big time gangsters nore famous bank robbers, so how does Danny think this is going to work out….

Casino
A movie by Martin Scorsese (do I need to write more?) which reveals the backside of the casino world. Although being a movie written by people hired to make a story many believe this one gives a real insight in the casino industry as it is in Las Vegas. The casino world is hard, full of greed and people fear nothing to stay in a certain high position.
With main actors Robert de Niro and Joe Pesci, acting as friends who both have a life of their own that leads in different directions this movie is also a ‘must see’ one. I have to warn you this film contains serious violence!
